Paul is a ten-year veteran of acclaimed ad agency, TBWA\CHIAT\DAY, having worked on brands including Nissan, Visa, The Grammys, and Pepsi. Ever since he was a young boy, Paul liked to draw — unknowingly creating ad layouts for fictitious automobiles, skateboard companies, and rock bands. Little did he realize he was laying down the foundation for a graphic design career. Soon after graduating high school, he took on a summer job at a small print shop as a delivery and packing person. His employers wanted to put him behind a printing press. Paul wanted to stand next to the guy with the small bits of moveable type, wax machine, t-square, and rapid-o-graph pens.
While attending El Camino College and Art Center College of Design classes at night, Paul became an apprentice paste-up artist part-time during the day. As technology improved, so did Paul —from Mergenthaler to Mac. He served as art director for two national motocross magazines (one with Larry Flynt Publications) before joining TBWA\CHIAT\DAY.
Paul is a seriously obsessed collector and follower of media — from vintage VHS to online 'zines. Cult movies, cool music, and comic books are his passion. He channels his love of collectibles into his online retail site, Z-Grade, which he curates with his wife Saori.
