Put Together Media recently completed production on a powerful new video series called “Stigma,” aimed at erasing the stigma of mental illness, for Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, the Los Angeles nonprofit that is home to the nation’s leading Suicide Prevention Center.
The videos feature celebrities, Didi Hirsch clients, staffers, and Board members talking candidly about their or a family member’s experience with mental illness.
PTM also produced a related website: www.erasingthestigma.org/video, serving as a landing page for the campaign, tied to Mental Health Awareness Month.
The videos and website are the latest in PTM's long-running collaboration with Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services.
Some known personalities in the campaign include “Fashion Police” Co-Producer Melissa Rivers, actress Eva LaRue, legal scholar Elyn R. Saks, Didi Hirsch’s President/CEO Dr. Kita S. Curry and director Maya Forbes.
PTM Founder and CEO Shawn Amos also contributes to the series, recalling the euphemisms around his mother's Schizoaffective Disorder and how access to open conversations and treatment has evolved since her 2003 suicide.
